The human being who accepts violence as normal, is no longer a human being, it becomes something else. Surviving to this transformation, forces us to change our form and our existence until we lose what we were, by accepting the normality of violence and conflict the human being becomes a Techno Mutant.
Techno Mutants are an evolution of the human being who advances from Post Human to something else. We are no longer talking about men and women who merge with machines but about new beings who lost all trace of humanity to reach a mutation seen as the only way to endure this universe, this reality.
Unlike in other series, such as Cyber Face or Woodland where I also examined human evolution through the lens of my own imagination (which is, in turn, strongly influenced by Cyberpunk culture), here the focus of representation is no longer the acceptance of mutation. The mutation is in fact forced, imposed by the necessity of survival. The Techno Mutants express their despair, their pain, the bewilderment of being in transit within a process of mutation into something unknown.
In Techno Mutant, as elsewhere, I present once again my own way of making analogical art: the process of visualization of the finished work that starts from my own imagination is captured through the first phase of drawing. The sketch, with which I elaborate my intuitions and my visions is then - through a complex work of setting up, make-up and lighting - brought to life at the photoshoot. Once the photograph has been taken, there is no digital manipulation, so that the image retains and shows the traces of its work.
